Hi Everyone

Would you like to read about our latest news? Here you are then!
May I introduce Yvonne, Morag, Ann, Lorraine, Angela & Shannon? They are the Group's true Intrepid Activiteers, these super six ladies took part in St Andrew's Hospice Newest Challenge!
It was a 24hour Challenge to carry expedition rucksacks, up Ben Nevis to the Base Camp!  At Base Camp it was stoves out for a well deserved high calorie very a tasty 'mountaincooked' meal, a reward for carrying exp rucksacks in blistering temperatures! After a very delicious meal, it was time to stare into the sunset, watching it slowly slip behind the surrounding high peaks that acted as a thermos to keep us cosy while sipping a brew! The oncoming semidarkness heralded the beginning of the next challenge? This was to reach the Ben's summit before sunrise! After carrying 65l rucksacks on one of the hottest days of the year, up Ben Nevis, then wild camp, cook, then snatch a couple of hours sleep, all this was done after having to travel up to Fort William that day, these girls are the Best of the Best! At 2am, the trek through the darkness began, without hesitation the girls got yomping, a sure steady pace was adopted and this set the scene to reach the summit for sunrise at 4.30am.  What a sunrise it was! It was incredible, it was as close to heaven and the sun you could get (In the UK anyway) at 4404ft, these girls are the best a leader could walk with, I would walk these girls anyday, they are truly "Norbert's Nevis Numpties" (They actually have 7degrees between them) This is just one of the many adventures undertaken by group members.Lets see what August brings? I just want to say thank you once again girls, it was a great weekend and I look forward to the next adventure! Norbert
